What is LINk?
Darlington LINk is an independent network of local individuals, groups and organisations that work together to improve local health and social care services. The LINk helps local people to influence and improve local services.
Who do we benefit?
Everyone who lives in Darlington or uses health and social care services in Darlington. We aim to find out what matters to the people of Darlington and influence change. These issues range from improving existing services like GP surgeries, dentists, hospitals and access to care services.
HealthWatch is coming!
Every Local Authority in England will have a duty to commission a local HealthWatch organisation. The new organisations start on 1st April 2013.
These local Healthwatch organisations will involve people of all ages and from all sections of the community. They will build on the knowledge and experience of existing Local Involvement Networks (LINks), so ensuring continuity, and will reach out into parts of the community that do not currently have a voice.
